For over fifteen years I've been photographing weddings along this coastline, and after more than 600 celebrations since 2011, I've learned that what couples come back to a decade later is never the pose. Is about those five seconds before the vows when nobody was performing.
I'm based here, in Cancún and the Riviera Maya. I know which stretch of sand still has light at seven, which resorts need permits filed three weeks out, and how a north wind in February changes an entire ceremony plan. That knowledge doesn't show up in a portfolio, but you feel it on the day.
THE WEDDING JOURNALS
I don't just deliver a gallery of photographs. I curate your own Wedding Journal — a visual narrative built the way a magazine feature is built, with a beginning, a rhythm, and an ending.
That means I'm watching for the quiet architecture of your day: the getting-ready hours with your closest people and the reception after the formalities dissolve. Editorial portraits are part of it — I'll direct you into good light and then get out of the way — but they're chapters, not the whole book.
The approach is documentary at its core.
Film and Digital, Together
Every wedding I photograph is shot on both digital and 35mm film.
Digital gives me certainty — in a dim palapa at eleven at night, in the four minutes you have for portraits before dinner is served, I know exactly what I'm getting. Film gives me something I still can't replicate any other way: the way it renders skin in Yucatán afternoon light, the softness in the highlights, the grain that makes an image feel like a memory instead of a file.
You receive both, in one cohesive collection. The film frames tend to be the ones that end up framed.
Where I Photograph
Cancún and the Riviera Maya are not one place — they're a hundred very different rooms, and each one photographs differently.
Mayakoba — Banyan Tree, Rosewood, Fairmont and Alila, mangrove channels, and the best golden hour on the coast. I've photographed here repeatedly and know the boat routes through the canals.
Cancún Hotel Zone & Costa Mujeres — Nizuc, the Secrets and Dreams properties, Playa Mujeres. Big ocean, dramatic sky, and the logistics of larger guest counts.
Playa del Carmen — beach clubs, rooftops, and the walkable, slightly imperfect texture of the town itself.
Tulum — jungle venues, cenotes, and the low warm light that made this coast famous. Also the trickiest place to shoot well, because that light is gone fast.
Isla Mujeres — small, intimate, boat-in ceremonies and the clearest water in the region.
Cozumel and beyond — I travel for weddings across Mexico and internationally.
How It Works
We talk first. A call, not a questionnaire. I want to know what your day actually looks like and who matters in it. If we're not a fit, I'll tell you and point you somewhere better.
I plan the light with you. Before the day I'll walk through your timeline and tell you honestly where it will and won't work photographically — ceremony time, portrait windows, sunset. Most couples move something after this conversation, and it always makes the photographs better.
I photograph the day. Quietly. Most of my work happens from a distance you won't notice.
You receive The Wedding Journals. A curated, fully edited gallery of both digital and film images, delivered in a private online gallery with print rights. A preview set within 10 days; the full collection within 12 weeks.
